Perforated Steel Spiral Staircase & Roof Terrace Balustrades in Forest Hill, London
ZedWorks designed, fabricated and installed a perforated mild-steel spiral staircase for this new-build home in Forest Hill.
The stair connects the garden to the roof terrace, with its perforated treads and slender spindle balustrade giving the steel a light, open character that works well in the outdoor setting.
The metalwork package also included matching roof terrace balustrades, developed to follow the same language as the interior metalwork.
All external steelwork was galvanised for long-term protection, then finished with a painted topcoat to give the pieces a consistent, understated appearance.
We worked closely with Joe Wright Architects to align the metalwork with the form and material palette of the house, and with Beam Developments through installation.
Structural engineering was provided by ODACE, ensuring the spiral stair performed as intended while remaining visually light.
