Massive 5m Raw Steel Desk Base in Camden, London
ZedWorks designed and fabricated a five-metre-long raw steel desk base for LABS Worldwide’s latest co-working space in Camden, London.
The structure was engineered as a single, continuous steel base to support an oversized marble worktop supplied by Marble Partners.
Fabricated from raw mild steel, the desk base celebrates the honest character of the material, with visible fabrication marks and natural tonal variation left intentionally exposed.
Designed to sit confidently within a busy shared workspace, the steel frame provides exceptional rigidity while maintaining a clean, architectural profile suited to LABS’ contemporary interior language.
The scale of the piece gives it a strong, monolithic presence, anchoring the workspace while allowing the marble top to remain the visual focal point.
