Bespoke Contemporary Staircase and Balustrade Design

Most of our staircases are made from mild, stainless or Cor-Ten steel, with optional timber elements supplied by the contractor or ZedWorks Subcontractor. We also work with brass and bespoke finishes for certain projects.

We offer blackened steel, painted finishes, powder coating, patinated surfaces and colour-matched options. Each finish is applied with a consistent, controlled approach.

Yes. We design and fabricate spindle, fin, perforated and panel balustrades as standalone packages for both internal and external applications (subject to min quantities – please call to discuss your particular situation).

For precision, our stairs are always built from site dimensions (which we come and take ourselves) never from plan as we work to tight tolerances and every mm is crucial. This also ensures we pick up on any quirks that your building has that may not show up on plans.

Yes. Our installation team manages alignment, fixing, handrail transitions and coordination with joinery and surrounding materials to ensure a clean final fit.

Yes. We can join the project at concept stage or later in the design process. Our team develops the geometry, resolves the structure and prepares clear, buildable details before fabrication begins.

Yes. All our fabrications are made in our East Sussex workshop, which allows us to maintain accuracy throughout fabrication, finishing and assembly.

Absolutely. Many of our projects are fabricated directly from architect-led designs. We can also assist with refinement, proportion, resolution of technical and connection details where needed.

We regularly support architects and engineers at early stages. A short conversation early on often prevents structural conflicts later and keeps the design aligned with the intended architectural language.

Typically, we come out to survey once the old stairs have been removed (if applicable) and the stairwell is opened up with any landing steels in place. We will also need to know what flooring you plan to lay so that we can make the necessary allowances for that in our model.
